Vehicle/Fleet Vinyl Graphics: Choosing the Right Material

That beautiful new wrap on your car, boat or truck does a great job of turning heads and getting your phone ringing when it first hits the public eye -- but what about a year from now, or two years from now? Suddenly you notice that the colors have faded, the vinyl has cracked or failed, and the whole thing just looks like yesterday's news printed on last year's newspaper. Why did your wrap age so quickly? Chances are that it was made of the wrong materials.

A vehicle wrap differs from ordinary indoor or short-term signage in that it must hold up to constant environmental abuse. The sun beats down on it mercilessly day in and day out, subjecting it to ultraviolet radiation that promotes fading. Rain, snow or ice may test the vinyl's elasticity and adhesion. Car washes pound the wrap with detergents and waxes. For all of these reasons, you simply cannot afford to go with cheap materials on your vehicle wraps -- and here at Digital D-Signs, we refuse to cut corners either. That means you'll pay a little more than the cut-rate guy who offers you a lowball "deal," but this is one of those situations where you absolutely get what you pay for.

Different vinyls offer different levels of durability, and the leading manufacturers of these products take this into account by offering varied product lines to meet different needs -- not unlike the way tire manufacturers make a multi-mile tire, a high-performance tire, an all-weather"tire, et cetera. We stock product lines from the three top vinyl manufacturers in the country -- 3M, Oracal and Avery. This helps us guarantee quality while we help you decide on which level of durability makes the most sense for your long-term marketing needs and budget. Contact us for details!
